"We really enjoyed our stay at Woodpecker Cottage. A great cottage to rent out – and amazingly well equipped!"
- Etherington, November 2011

“We very much enjoyed staying at your house and we were much surprised of all the little details that you thought about for making the stay for your guests so enjoyable. One of the best things was the fresh bread baking for us when we arrived. Thankyou!’
Schlachter, October-November 2011

"Our family had a wonderful get-together at the cottage – young and old! The cottage absolutely suited our needs and we oldies were very pleased to be allocated the ‘pent-house’ as we called it – far enough away so as not to hear the baby waking up in the night to be fed! The garden was well used and we enjoyed it and all the little comforts you had thought of. The cottage is delightful. We have very happy memories and hope to return some day."
- Easton/Evans, October, 2011

‘We’ve had a lovely week at Woodpeckers. A great base for exploring – we’ve been to Brighton, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Legoland, London. Off home now for a rest!’
- Balance, October 2011

- Craig, May 2011

Unbedingt empfehlenswert!!" . . . which translates as:
“Originally searching for a holiday house in London, I came across this great country cottage. It was love at first sight – a feeling which intensified when we actually arrived! The house has been tastefully renovated with all modern amenities, yet is full of original features and character. The owners have thought of everything - from the flashlight to the beach towels, iron, and appliance adapters. We found freshly baked bread, butter, milk and a bottle of red wine waiting for us – as you would in a First Class Hotel. The lovely garden was in full bloom during our stay and there is so much to do in the area – easy visits to London, castles, gardens, beautiful resorts on the South Coast – a week was too short. Highly recommended!”
- Mayer, April 2011

- Ryan, March 2011

“We’ve had a lovely week and enjoyed every minute. The birds and walking were superb. The whole area was something of a revelation – hope to come back. Grandson (9 months) loved the waterbabies ‘pool’. Oh – and thanks for the home-baked bread – very welcome!”

“We just wanted to let you know that we have arrived safely and that we are enjoying every minute. The house is beautiful and we felt so welcome. - Overwater, March 2011

“Lovely house, well equipped, cosy and warm. Great views. Saw the woodpecker every day! Great facilities for working, too. The Wifi was essential for our working week. Still had plenty of time to visit the area, though! We had a fabulous time at Woodpecker, it was just the break we needed. We will definitely recommend you to our friends!”
- Illsley, February 2011

“Beautiful countryside escape. Everything was wonderful! You have such a beautiful home. We will definitely consider it again if/when we return to England. Thanks for the good times!”
(Nooren, October 2010)

“This has been a delightful home base for three weeks. We’ve enjoyed it very much. Only downside was not seeing the woodpecker (sadly discovered dead, it seems of natural causes, but a new family of woodpeckers is in the woods and we are hoping for visits before long - Owner.) The garden is gorgeous – and you have such a treasure in your wonderful housekeeper, Liz!”
(Mackay, September-October, 2010)

“As we are leaving tomorrow I would just like to thank you and tell you what a lovely cottage Woodpecker is - but of course you already know that! We all had a great time and our grand-daughter (18 months) was spoiled for choice with things to do and see. It is very rare to find such a well equipped self-catering property and in such a super location. We certainly will recommend 'Woodpecker' when we get home, and, of course, show lots of photographs.”
(Donnison, September 2010)

“We had a really lovely time at Woodpecker Cottage – it is so peaceful – thankyou! Also, we really appreciate your business-like but friendly, helpful approach. The cottage was perfect for us, well equipped and felt like home in such lovely surroundings. Our only regret is we didn't spot the real woodpecker!”
(Carvel, September 2010)

“I just wanted to say that we had a wonderful stay in your lovely cottage. We all really enjoyed it and it was very easy to get to local shops and not far from the A3 which was brilliant for day trips. Thank you again!”

(Skinner, May-June 2010)

‘We spent a wonderful week with beautiful weather. We enjoyed the garden with our four children aged 2-7 years old. The house felt like home. The 70th birthday party with pre-made home-cooked food from the local ‘Cook’ (recommended by our hosts) was a great success! Thank you for the wine – and soap in all toilets!’
(April, 2010, Derwig)

"Wonderful week - despite the weather! Great walks. We enjoyed being in this peaceful, light and airy home with its wonderful views. Thank you for the warm welcome, too. A 'birders’ paradise'!"
(March, 2010, Runciman)

"A fabulous week! Woodpecker is very well equipped and we loved the open plan living. Such a gorgeous area, too! It has definitely helped make our minds up that it is worth leaving London for a life in Farnham, knowing the commute is manageable. Boys LOVED the waterbabies bath - we couldn't get them out!"
(February, 2010, Cossey)

(January, 2010, London)

“The house was absolutely lovely and the birds in the garden were amazing. We went on a couple of fantastic walks and hoped to get snowed in (the Lane was incredibly icy with a light sprinkling of snow) - maybe next time. . .

“A real home from home with everything you need and more. We had a most relaxing time and enjoyed the surrounding countryside. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the water babies bathroom. Saw Mr and Mr Woodpecker most days along with a jay, a magpie and a cheeky squirrel. Many thanks!”
(May 2009, Doyle)

“I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated the welcoming gift of wine, bread, milk, and butter. We had a minor hiccup with the car rental pickup at the train station which caused a three hour delay in our travels to Woodpecker cottage. It was a wonderful surprise after our long journey. We got to relax and enjoy your beautiful cottage while our children discovered all the hidden delights in the garden. Thank you very much.” (May 2009, Preston)

“Great place, good kitchen, excellent garden. Seen “woody” every day. Grownups and kids all loved it. Soothing on the soul.” (April, 2009, Manuel)

“We spent a wonderful week in the Woodpecker Cottage. What a nice place to stay in. A week is too short! We shall come from Germany again – there is still much to see.” (May, 2007)

“We all left Woodpecker Cottage with regrets and want to thank you again so much for it. The thought and consideration that has gone into its facilities, condition and provisions made it so easy to move in and feel instantly comfortable and at home. If you want to use such words in your literature - or have me post something somewhere - please let me know.” (April 2007 and November 2008, Carbonell)

“The best-equipped cottage we have ever been in.” (March, 2007)
